KENNETH GOODMAN

Ken "Shadow" Goodman, the esteemed founder and Chief Combatives Coach of 52 VtK, is a testament to the power of resilience and constant self-improvement. His journey began within the challenging confines of the New York State prison system where he was a resident for a quarter-century. In this violent subculture, Shadow honed his combat skills, intensively refining them for survival. His self-protection system, a product of years of meticulous development, was born and tested within these walls, proving its effectiveness time and again. Shadow's introduction to the martial arts world from as early as age five set the groundwork for his profound journey. He kick-started his training with fencing and the prison dirty-boxing style known as '52 Blocks' or 'Jailhouse Rock.' This foundation allowed Shadow to complement his fighting style with conventional boxing, Ving Tsun, Kali, and Krav Maga in the later years. Today, Shadow Goodman, the man who turned adversity into resilience, shares his expertise with the world, reinforcing the importance of self-protection and teaching the skills needed to make it a reality.
